Cromford Canal nr Matlock, Derbyshire. Many pleasant walks by canal, railway or cross country. Small village comprising the famous Cromford Mill which is well worth a visit, some shops, pub and fish and chips. Easy parking in a large car park by the canal (?1.30 for 2 hours).

Goyt Valley Walk, nr Buxton, Derbyshire - an easy walk with great views. Park your car (or smaller campervan) in many of the scattered car parking areas and enjoy many walks around the goyt reservoir.Grin low Caravan Club Site is just a few miles away.

An interesting walk from The Quiet Woman pub (the beer was nectar) Earl Sterndale. Mixed weather, great views and surprised to find some old bunkers - which apparently are left over from an old WW2 army base just outside Buxton.

Ramblers Retreat a great place to have a superb meal (or just a cuppa) and some walks with some really good views. If you are walking or cycling the Churnet Valley Trail this is a worthwhile stop for a rest.

A day in Derby well worth a trip. A good market, a large shopping centre and plenty of places to drink and eat.

Back to the Derbyshire / Staffordshire border with a walk from the "highest village in Britain" - some great high level views over the Peak District leading to the scenic 3 Shires Head.

Another great Derbyshire Peak District walk along Tideswell dale, Cressbrook dale and Mondale dale. Very muddy in places but well worth the trek.

A really picturesque walk from Earl Sterndale just south of Buxton, Derbyshire. Some steep bits but generally an easy walk with some great views across an interesting landscape. Some excellent campsites nearby.

A great walk along a wet Stanage Edge nr Sheffield.
Mixed weather but the stunningly different rock formations make some great exploring. Many car parks along the many miles of the edge with easy access to some great views.

Trans Pennine Trail - an interesting and pretty flat trail. We did a section between Staveley and Rother Valley Park which is a 5 mile stretch.

Riddings Wood is an eco-friendly Caravan & Camping park set in 11 acres of woodland in the tranquil and idyllic Derbyshire countryside offering a quiet and relaxing retreat. Just a short distance from the Peak District, our park is the perfect location for enjoying walking, climbing, cycling, bird watching and fishing holidays.
Riddings Wood offers the best of both worlds, being peacefully located yet only eight miles from the centre of Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield. The touring park has hardstanding pitches with grass for awnings and electric hook-up points to all pitches for caravans and motorhomes.
There are also fully serviced pitches and seasonal pitches available to tourers. There is a brand new toilet and shower block with washing and laundry facilities and a camping field for tents is close to the amenities. The site can also offer storage options and can also cater for caravan rallies.

a family-run caravan park and camping site located between Buxton and Bakewell in Derbyshire, an ideal base for exploring the Peak District. Owned and managed by John, Julie and Jodie Gregory, we are located at Blackwell in the Peak, a small hamlet with just 10 houses and a few small farms. WHAT TO DO & WHERE TO GO IN DERBYSHIRE

There are many tourist attractions in the Amber Valley located in the southern part of Derbyshire and the UK's popular National Park the Peak District towards the north.

Amongst the places to go in the Peak District and well worth a visit are Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne and many superb surrounding villages. There are loads of off road cycle trails all over the Derbyshire Peak District all with great views and walks for all levels of competency - whether rugged moorlands or the dales which are scattered all over the North Derbyshire landscape.

We can recommend many good walks and cycle routes in this one of our most favourite areas.
